The Gordon Institute for Music Learning prioritizes the safety and well-being of its community members. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic remains a significant challenge the United States, but GIML is committed to minimizing exposure to and transmission of the COVID-19 virus in our PDLCs. To date, the most effective tool for achieving this goal is widespread vaccination. For these reasons, GIML will require all PDLC faculty and participants to be fully vaccinated with a World Health Organization-approved vaccine or have a GIML-approved medical or religious exemption. (A list of World Health Organization-approved vaccines can be found by visiting https://www.who.int/news-room/questions-and-answers/item/coronavirus-disease-(covid-19)-vaccines. Contact Cory Mays at executive@GIML.org to apply for an exemption.) If vaccinations are more than 5 months old, faculty and participants also must receive a World Health Organization-approved booster shot. Registrants must send verification to the GIML Executive Director no later than 2 weeks before the start of a PDLC (digital copy of vaccine card acceptable). Masks, testing, and social distancing may be required in some sites as well.

Note: If you are planning to attend the PDLC at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), no Covid-19 vaccine is required (as this mirrors university policy). Attendees must provide proof of a negative Covid-19 test result (only VIRAL tests will be accepted) no later than June 5, 2022. Tests taken before June 3 will not be accepted.
