Dr. Erin Cross (she/her) is the Director of the University of Pennsylvania’s LGBT Center where she began as its first fulltime Program Coordinator 20+ years ago.  In addition to her Center duties, she is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Penn’s Graduate School of Education, Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies Affiliated Faculty, convenes the campus-wide DEI group, and serves on the Provost’s Wellness Advisory Group, International Student and Scholar Service’s Partners Outreach Group, and Athletics Race and Social Justice Task Force. Erin has been honored as a Model of Excellence, Penn’s top staff honor, four times including for co-founding Penn’s MLK Day of Service. In 2020 she co-founded White Educators Committed to Anti-Racism and Equity (WE-CARE), and also is part of an interdisciplinary Penn Futures grant team and a co-PI on a Provost’s Excellence Through Diversity Fund project, both centering LGBTQ+ youth of color. She earned her B.A. in History and Political Science from The College of Wooster, M.A. in Political Science from The Pennsylvania State University, and Ph.D. at Penn's Graduate School of Education.
