Monday, August 1 - 6-7:30pm - "Q&A for MLT" with Jill Reese, Heather Shouldice, and Jennifer Bailey

  • What are your nagging questions about applying MLT in YOUR classroom? Jill, Heather, and Jen discuss common questions they get about applying MLT in the general music classroom and respond to questions from the participants. 

Monday, August 8 - 6-7:30 - "Q & A for MLT" with Jennifer Bailey and Lisa Henrich and Leslie Anne Bird - Playing Well with Others Part 1: Blending MLT and Orff

  • What are some strategies for blending Orff and MLT in YOUR classroom? Jen, Lisa, and Leslie Anne discuss strategies for successful blending and respond to questions from the participants about collaborating with colleagues who use a variety of methods. 

Monday, August 15 - 6-7:30 - "Q & A for MLT" with Jill and Berta Yee - Playing Well with Others Part 2: Blending MLT and Kodaly

  • What are some strategies for blending Kodaly and MLT in YOUR classroom? Jill and Berta discuss strategies for successful blending and respond to questions from the participants about collaborating with colleagues who use a variety of methods. 

Monday, August 22 - 6:7:30 - "Q & A for MLT" with Heather and Jessica Glaser, Amy Sierzega, Megan Carnevale - Adapting to Meet Students' Needs

  • How can you adapt instruction to meet the needs of ALL students and be inclusive of their abilities, experiences, and backgrounds? Heather, Jessica, Amy, and Megan describe strategies they've developed and respond to questions from the participants about collaborating with colleagues who use a variety of methods.

These hangouts are designed as an opportunity to chat informally with members of the GIML faculty and community rather than as a formal “presentation.” Are you struggling with something MLT-related and need ideas? GIML faculty members and other participants will provide support and guidance. Come with questions or just listen to and join in the conversation. Please note that our faculty hangouts are NOT recorded.
